Trading safely in the Saas Valley

Saaser is the neighbourhood board for the Saas Valley: most deals are easy and personal — you often know each other. A few simple rules protect you when using listings, comments and reservations.

Meet in person and check first

  • Meet in person whenever possible, ideally in a public place in the village.
  • Inspect the item carefully and try it out before paying.
  • For larger amounts or an evening handover, bring a second person along.

Pay on handover, not before

  • Pay in cash or with TWINT at handover — never in advance.
  • Decline prepayments to strangers, for example for "shipping" or "reservation".
  • Be sceptical about prices that are too good to be true.

Keep the chat on Saaser

  • Keep communication on Saaser until the handover. That way moderation can trace what was agreed if something goes wrong.
  • Only share your full address once the handover is arranged.

Protect your data

  • Never send photos of your ID, driving licence or cards in chats.
  • Sign in only through Saaser's own sign-in and never share login codes with anyone.

Report anything suspicious

  • The report button on every listing and comment reaches moderation directly.
  • In case of fraud, contact saaser@domservice.ch and, if needed, the Valais cantonal police.

Businesses in the directory

  • Companies marked "Verified by owner" have been claimed by their owner — that is how you recognise official contact details and opening hours.
